Our Programs:

Children ages 2 ½ to 7 years thrive at Ventura Montessori. There is a Pre-Primary classroom and a Primary classroom, both providing a Montessori-based curriculum.

Children are placed in three-year age groups, promoting an atmosphere of cooperation, teamwork and peer teaching. The Pre-Primary classroom serves students ages 2 ½ through 5. Upon readiness, children move up to the Primary classroom (ages 4 ½ -7).

Our classrooms focus on four major categories of the Montessori method:

  • Practical Life – Coordination, concentration, independence, responsibility
  • Sensorial – Observation skills, perceptual discrimination, judgement
  • Language – Vocabulary, listening skills, letter sounds, verbal expression, reading and writing
  • Mathematics – Introduction of set and number, decimal system, counting, grouping, numerical operations, number facts, abstract computation

These are complemented by Montessori-supported subjects including: Art, Music, Pre-History, Literature, Science, Geography, Biology, Algebra, Geometry and Spanish.
